Over 120 dancers from three countries – Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece – are preparing to fill the center of Burgas with music, dance, and colorful traditional costumes. The occasion is the fifth annual edition of "Yerevan in Burgas – The Children's Festival," which will take place on September 20. The event is dedicated to showcasing the cultural wealth and traditions of the Bulgarian and Armenian people.
The large-scale celebration will feature numerous children's and youth ensembles, which will demonstrate the beauty of Armenian and Bulgarian folklore. Participants include youth folk groups from the "A. G. Kodzhakafaliyata" Primary School, the "Lyuben Karavelov" Community Center, and the "Prosveta" Community Center in the Dolno Ezerovo district of Burgas.
Festival Program
- 10:00 AM – Start of the festive program with a colorful parade that will make its way from the "Clock" to the "Terrace." During the procession, dancers will make stops along the main street to showcase their skills to residents and visitors of the city.
- 10:50 AM – Official wreath-laying ceremony at the "Monument to the Grateful Armenians," located on the "Terrace."
- 11:00 AM – The celebration continues at the "Snail" open-air stage with a grand concert, which will open with a performance by the bagpipe group from the "Prosveta" Community Center in Dolno Ezerovo.
In the immediate vicinity of the "Snail" stage, a special "Armenian Cuisine" charity bazaar will be set up. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste authentic Armenian specialties prepared according to traditional recipes, and all proceeds will go toward supporting the future activities of the "Yerevan 2022" Community Center.
Through its fifth edition, "Yerevan in Burgas – The Children's Festival" will once again bring together the cultures of the Bulgarian and Armenian ethnic groups. It serves as another opportunity to emphasize that the two communities have lived for years in a spirit of understanding and harmony, both in the city of Burgas and throughout Bulgaria.
