The Regional Police Directorate in Burgas reported two fatal incidents that occurred on August 6 along the beach strip in the popular resort of Sunny Beach. The first tragic case was registered in the morning around 10:30 AM, when a rescue team pulled an elderly man from the water.
Medical specialists who arrived immediately at the scene confirmed the death of the unidentified man. Police officers described his appearance – a man between 60 and 70 years old, with a large build and salt-and-pepper hair. His body was transported to Burgas for a forensic medical examination.
A second similar incident followed a few hours later. A vigilant lifeguard managed to pull another man from the seawater, but despite immediate resuscitation efforts, his life could not be saved. It was subsequently established that he was a 93-year-old Polish citizen.
For both cases, the competent authorities immediately initiated pre-trial proceedings to clarify the circumstances surrounding the tragic events.
