Two Burgas police officers have received the Interior Ministry's Badge of Honour, third class, for their contribution and high professional results, the Burgas regional police directorate (ODMVR) said.

The badge went to senior investigator Kalina Kutsarova-Pazvantova and chief inspector Miroslav Zhelev. The awards mark 8 November, the professional holiday of the Bulgarian police. Another 108 staff of the Burgas directorate also received awards, 12 of them from the financial support unit and 96 from other units.

Chief commissioner Hristo Ichev, head of the directorate, handed over the badges in front of senior staff. The two officers thanked him and promised to keep working for the public.

Kutsarova-Pazvantova works in the Investigation department. Her Interior Ministry career began in February 2020 at the district police department in Nessebar, where she was an investigator. She has worked in Burgas since March 2025, also in police investigations. She has received "written commendations" and individual cash awards more than once.

Zhelev works in the Criminal Police department and has headed its Crimes Against the Person unit since September 2025. He joined the Interior Ministry in June 2012. He first worked in the Security Police at the First District Police Department in Burgas, and has been in the Criminal Police since 2016. He has received "announced thanks", "written commendations", and individual and collective cash awards.

Eleonora Decheva, head of the financial support unit, put forward its staff for awards. Six of them, five senior accountants and one senior expert, received a "written commendation" for a specific, major contribution to their professional tasks. Another six, five technical clerks and one accountant, received "announced thanks" with a cash award.

Ichev also gave a "written commendation" to 96 staff from other units. They work in the Investigation and Economic Police departments, in the Human Resources, Bulgarian Identity Documents and Basic Scientific and Technical Laboratory units, in the Fourth District Police Department in Burgas and in the district police department in Tsarevo.
