Volunteers join forces for a cleaner nature near Sozopol
On the occasion of World Environment Day, dozens of volunteers gathered to clean up the coastal area of the "Alepu" locality near Sozopol. The initiative turned the day into a symbol of civic responsibility and care for the ecological state of the region.
"Such initiatives not only improve the state of the environment but also encourage the active participation of young people in causes related to the conservation of natural resources," the organizers emphasized.
International project Go2Recycling
The campaign is part of the large-scale international project Go2Recycling, which aims at sustainable waste management in the Black Sea basin. The campaign covered four countries simultaneously:
- Bulgaria
- Romania
- Turkey
- Georgia
Who took part in the cleanup?
The following took an active part in the Alepu cleanup:
- Fifth and sixth-grade students from "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" Secondary School
- Citizens and local residents
- Representatives of the municipal administration
- The Mayor of Sozopol – Tihomir Yanakiev
The participants showed that with joint efforts and a responsible attitude towards nature, our coastal areas can be cleaner and more welcoming for everyone.
