Discussion on the April Uprising at BSU: The Economic Roots of the Revolution

On April 20th, a discussion dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising will be held at Burgas Free University. The event will examine the economic factors that led to the uprising, with the participation of a historian, an economist, and a lawyer.

On April 20th at 2:00 PM in Hall 110 of Burgas Free University (BFU), a discussion will be held on the topic of "The April Uprising of 1876 - Apotheosis of the Bulgarian Bourgeois Revolution".

The event is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising and will examine the economic processes that led to the uprising, as well as the culmination of the problems of the young Bulgarian bourgeoisie in the Ottoman Empire.

Participants in the discussion will be Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikolay Sirakov (Director of the Regional Historical Museum Sliven), Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov (Rector of BFU), and Mihail Hadzhiyanev (Chairman of the Municipal Council Burgas).

The event is open to all interested parties. BNR will be a media partner, broadcasting the discussion. Please take your seats by 1:50 PM and remain until 3:30 PM due to a planned audio recording.
