At this moment, there is no risk whatsoever to the country's national security. This was stated by Minister of Defence Dimitar Stoyanov at the opening of the 2026/2027 academic year at the "G. S. Rakovski" Military Academy.

In response to questions regarding the two military aircraft that landed at Sofia Airport, Stoyanov urged for calm. He clarified that the aircraft have blanket diplomatic clearance, which is granted to allied nations at the end of each year. They have the right to use Bulgarian airports for refueling and crew rest before continuing their flights.

"This is not something that is happening for the first time. It is just that after the stay of the tanker aircraft, much more attention and interest began to be paid to it," the Minister pointed out. He expressed surprise at the heightened public interest in the topic and specified that this aviation traffic does not fall under the control of the Ministry of Defence.

Regarding the jamming device discovered in the "Dragalevtsi" district of the capital, Dimitar Stoyanov was adamant that it is not military equipment. According to him, the "Military Intelligence" service has no involvement in this case.
