Atanasia Petrova launches her new children's book, "Grandpa Andrey's Messages", today at 5.30pm at the Holy Mother of God church. Entry is free.
Petrova is a head teacher and organiser at Burgas centre for pupils' interests and creativity. The book comes from Sofia Nigohosyan of Burgas publishing house "Bozhich" and carries the blessing of Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven.
A pupil of Petrova's inspired the book. Priests, Burgas council staff, teachers and pupils will hear readings from it at the launch.
Petrova says she wrote the book out of love for children everywhere, hoping they will come to love God, receive holy baptism and grow up as good, knowledgeable young Christians. Its messages are meant for adults too.
Petrova believes teaching children about Orthodox Christianity faces many obstacles today. She quotes God's words, "Do not stop the children coming to me," and thanks everyone who supports the Orthodox Christian books she publishes.
