In the kindergarten “Zvezditsa Zornitsa“ – Burgas, the active implementation of the activities under project BG05SFPR001-1.004 “Establishing intercultural education through culture, science, and sport“ – “My World of Interests“, funded under the Program “Education“ 2021–2027, continues. During November and the beginning of December, a series of initiatives were carried out under Activity 1 (working with children) and Activity 3 (working with parents), aimed at building an inclusive, supportive, and inquisitive community.
On November 14, 2025, a joint event under the project was held in the kindergarten under the title “Day of Friendship“. Special guests were the children from kindergarten “Barborino“, Sredets.
The celebration brought many smiles, music, and inspiration. It began with a welcome to the guests and a song about Burgas, and then the children from the three groups – “Perlichki“, “Moryache“ and “Taralezche“ – presented beautiful performances, united by the theme of friendship, love, and family. At the end, all the children participated in a common dance finale, filled with smiles and many positive emotions.
The celebration left a warm feeling in everyone present and showed how much better everything is when it is shared – an important emphasis in intercultural education and the upbringing of values such as respect, mutual assistance, and acceptance of difference.
In the implementation of Activity 3 “Support for intensive work to build a community of active parents“, on November 19, 2025, a meeting with parents was held in the assembly hall of kindergarten “Zvezditsa Zornitsa“. In accordance with the project proposal and the planned events, a presentation on the topic “Bulgarian traditions and customs“ was prepared and presented.
The presentation was delivered in an accessible and engaging way, with the aim of facilitating communication between the kindergarten and the family, building trusting relationships and encouraging the inclusion of the parent community in the life of the institution. After the presentation, the parents had the opportunity to share opinions, ask questions and express their views on the topic. Thus, the meeting turned into a real dialogue about the role of traditions, common values and a supportive environment for children.
In the context of Activity 1, aimed at developing the interests and cognitive activity of children through science and play, on December 9, 2025, the “Design Champions“ clubs from kindergarten “Zvezditsa Zornitsa“ visited the interactive science center “PlanetUM“. The activities planned in the project include activities that give children the opportunity to view the exhibitions and actively participate in them.
In the “Experimentarium“, the little discoverers not only observed, but also conducted a series of experiments, presented in a fun and accessible way, which provokes their curiosity and thinking. Getting to know the world at this age can be both interesting, accessible and scientifically sound – the visit develops key skills in children such as creative thinking, teamwork, communication and initiative.
The three initiatives – “Day of Friendship“, the meeting with parents on the topic “Bulgarian traditions and customs“ and the visit to “PlanetUM“ by the “Design Champions“ clubs – practically show how the project “My World of Interests“ combines culture, science and community activities. Through them, the kindergarten expands the horizons of the children, strengthens the connection with the families and builds a living community in which children, parents and the pedagogical team are active participants in the process of intercultural education and mutual acquaintance.
