A three-year-old child and her 30-year-old mother were injured in a traffic accident on the Burgas - Sozopol road, the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior reported. The incident was recorded around 11:06 AM at km 3+556 of the busy stretch connecting Burgas with the South Black Sea Coast.
According to preliminary information, a 63-year-old resident of Burgas, driving a "Mercedes" passenger car, failed to maintain a safe distance from the "Lexus RX 450" moving ahead of him and collided with it. A 35-year-old man, also from Burgas, was behind the wheel of the struck "Lexus".
As a result of the impact, the driver of the "Lexus"'s wife and daughter, who were traveling with him, were injured. The 30-year-old woman sustained an abdominal contusion, while the little girl suffered a head injury. Both were transported to UMBAL - Burgas, where doctors examined them. According to the police, their lives are not in danger. The victims refused to be hospitalized and left the medical facility immediately after their examinations.
A day earlier, on Saturday around 9:43 PM, another accident occurred—this time in front of the "Janni" restaurant in Sunny Beach. A 63-year-old resident of Nessebar stopped his Burgas-registered "Dacia Lodgy" for loading and unloading. A 33-year-old man from Sofia, traveling in the car, opened the rear right door to get out, at which moment a cyclist—a Ukrainian citizen—was passing by the car.
The open door struck the cyclist, causing him to fall to the ground along with a Ukrainian woman accompanying him. A medical team responded to the scene and examined both injured parties, after which they were advised to continue treatment at home.
According to information provided by the police, it is not specified whether the woman was riding on the same bicycle with the Ukrainian man or was accompanying him in another way. There was also no report of any need for hospital treatment for any of the participants in the incident in front of the restaurant.
Both incidents—the crash on the Burgas - Sozopol road and the accident in Sunny Beach—were announced by the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior.
