Investigations in Kardzhali: The scope is expanding
Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev announced that the operations in Kardzhali are not limited only to the current mayor, Erol Myumyun. The investigation into official misconduct in public procurement also affects a former regional governor, with similar procedural actions having been taken.
"The prosecutor's office must wake up and work objectively towards everyone," stated Demerdzhiev, emphasizing the need for the same standards for all politicians.
Property fraud in Varna and the role of SANS
Regarding the case of the illegal complex in the "Baba Alino" area, the minister stated that he had uncovered a well-developed economic structure for property fraud. Demerdzhiev pointed out that while he was not in office, the Ministry of Interior's actions against the group had been halted. He sharply criticized the actions of the former chairman of SANS, who had revoked his own order for the expulsion of a Ukrainian citizen identified as a threat to national security.
