Rain, heavy in places and with thunder, is falling across central and eastern Bulgaria on Friday, 23 October, but it will stop everywhere by afternoon, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said. A north-westerly wind is bringing cold air, and temperatures are falling.
It will be mostly cloudy on the Black Sea coast today, with short showers and some thunder. Visibility is poor in places in the morning. The rain stops in the afternoon and the clouds slowly break up. Highs along the coast will be 16C to 18C, the same as the sea. The wind is moderate and north-westerly, and waves will reach force 2 to 3.

Elsewhere in Bulgaria the clouds start to clear in the morning, first in the west, and it turns mostly sunny. The north-westerly wind is light to moderate, but will be strong for a time in the north-east. Highs will be 15C to 20C, and about 15C in Sofia.
The mountains are cloudy with rain, and snow falls above 2,000 metres. It will be about 11C at 1,200 metres and about 4C at 2,000 metres. The wind is moderate and north-westerly. The clouds thin out in the afternoon and it turns mostly sunny.
