The coast of Burgas once again became the epicenter of water sports after the city and the Chernomorets Burgas Yacht Club hosted two of the most significant sporting events on the Bulgarian kitesurfing calendar last week. In a joint initiative that brought together the discipline"s elite, the Black Sea Kite Cup and the 2025 National Kitesurfing Championship were held. The competitions offered five days of intense rivalry, marked by unpredictable conditions and impressive achievements.
Competition in variable conditions
More than 40 kiters, representing seven Bulgarian clubs, took to the open water to test their skills. The tension was felt even on the shore, where the wind"the main ally and rival of the competitors"continuously changed its strength and direction. These dynamic conditions seriously tested the skills and adaptability of the participants. For spectators gathered along the beach, the view was breathtaking"colorful kites soared in the air, and boards skillfully cut through the waves as the athletes performed complex maneuvers. The atmosphere was filled with positive energy, sportsmanship, and many emotions.
Dominance of the hosts and distribution of medals
The Chernomorets Burgas Yacht Club, as the host of the event, proved its ambitions and excellent preparation by winning the most medals. However, the fierce competition led to the titles being distributed among different clubs, which made the competitions even more exciting and unpredictable. The dominance of the Burgas club did not overshadow the individual talent and persistence of the competitors from other cities.
