Burgas State Puppet Theatre Presents the Musical "101 Dalmatians"

The Burgas State Puppet Theatre is preparing for the premiere of the musical "101 Dalmatians", which will be the first full-fledged musical production in Bulgaria based on Dodie Smith's novel. The premiere is expected in September.

The State Puppet Theater in Burgas is starting work on a large-scale project – the stage musical “101 Dalmatians,” which will be presented for the first time in Bulgaria as a complete musical production, announced the team of the cultural institution in the seaside city.

The theater has received the official rights for the original stage adaptation from Concord Theatricals UK based on Dodie Smith's novel with a dramaturgical version by Glyn Robbins and translated by Lyubov Kostova.

The music for the performance will be created especially for the acting cast by composer Asen Avramov, and the lyrics of the songs are entrusted to Iliya Devedzhiev. Singer Roberta, who is also the musical director of the production, will also participate in the vocal preparation. The direction is entrusted to Elena Panayotova. The set design will be the work of Yuliyana Voykova-Nayman, and the choreography – of Rosen Mihaylov.

The actors from the troupe of the State Puppet Theater in Burgas will participate in the performance – Alexandra Grancharova, Gergana Anmakhyan, Desislava Mincheva-Todorova, Stanislava Kamenova-Zafirova, Alex Anmakhyan, Delyan Kyosev, Diyan Rusev and Nikolay Nikolov.

The premiere of the musical “101 Dalmatians” is expected to be in September, the theater adds.
