The Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic took a strategic step in support of endangered Ukrainian cultural heritage. On July 2, an official decision was made to provide a mobile station ARK III, which will play a key role in the process of digitization and preservation of cultural artifacts.
The initiative is being implemented through the joint program "Support for Ukrainian Culture", developed by the Ministry of Culture and the Czech Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The project is being carried out under the personal patronage of the Minister of Culture Martin Baksa.
Minister Baksa emphasized the significance of the project, describing it as an "invisible but extremely important activity with a real humanitarian result". The ARK project represents a complex system composed of three specialized units with different functional areas.
The first unit, ARK I, is focused on the conservation and restoration of documentary heritage, including books and manuscripts. ARK II is a mobile solution for digitizing two-dimensional objects from cultural institutions. ARK III is the newest unit, which will now be provided to Ukrainian partners.
Through this large-scale project, the Czech Republic demonstrates solidarity and practical support for preserving Ukraine's cultural identity during the military aggression.
