Due to rising costs in the sector, some bakeries have already ceased operations, while producers are also warning of a potential drop in demand for their products. If prices rise, the cost of bread could reach approximately 1.20 euros.

Although production costs have already jumped by about 5 percent, bakers are currently trying to maintain current prices. According to their forecasts, current levels may hold for at least another month or two, but if an increase becomes necessary, it would be within the range of 10 percent, with rising fuel costs expected to have the greatest impact.

Media outlets report that the rising costs of wheat, electricity, transport, and fuel could lead to higher bread prices this autumn.
