Tsarevo is battling the consequences of severe weather conditions, after record amounts of rain were recorded in recent hours. The heavy rainfall has caused a number of problems, the most serious so far being the undermining and compromising of the road infrastructure leading to the village of Izgrev.
A reporter on the scene notes the dramatic situation. The constant rain hampered visibility, and the sound of the falling drops seemed to drown out everything else. The tension in the air was palpable as local residents tried to assess the damage.
Local authorities issued a warning to citizens to avoid travel in the direction of the village of Izgrev until a thorough inspection and assessment of the damage has been carried out. In addition, an appeal has been made to avoid travel to the „Arapya“ and „Nestinarka“ campsites.
Traffic on Mihail Gerdzhikov Street in Tsarevo has been temporarily suspended, and Buzludzha Street is recommended as a detour.
The meteorological situation in the area is critical. Over 200 mm of precipitation were recorded in a period of only five hours. Within just four hours, more than 127 mm of rain fell in the city. Such quantities, gathered in such a short period, represent extremely high values, creating significant risks.
Even more urgent is the appeal to the residents of the settlements near rivers and water bodies. They are reminded of the need for increased vigilance and strict adherence to the instructions of the local authorities in this critical situation.
