The Employment Agency opened applications from employers today, 16 October. Employers can apply at any labour office in Bulgaria for national programmes and schemes that support jobs and training.

Applications are made under the National Employment Action Plan for 2026. Employers can choose from four national programmes: training and jobs for the long-term unemployed, jobs and training for people with permanent disabilities, "Help for Retirement" and "Start of Career".

The agency is also taking applications for the support schemes in Article 50, paragraphs 3 and 4 of the rules for applying the Employment Promotion Act. Contracts will get the funding set out in the 2026 Plan, as long as money is available.

"Start of Career" gives young university graduates 12 months of work in regional and municipal administrations. They get their first work experience and practical skills in the field they studied. Administrations can request posts from 16 to 26 October inclusive.

Young people have until 30 October inclusive to submit their documents. Applicants must not have turned 30 by that date. They need a university degree that fits the requirements of the job, and they must have no work experience in their field.

Applicants must be registered at the labour office as unemployed, or as employed people who are looking for work. They can send documents through the Secure Electronic Delivery System, or hand them in at the labour office directorate where they are registered. Job brokers advise applicants and help them.

The full list of posts, the procedure, the terms and the documents are in the "National Programme "Start of Career"" section of the agency's website. The list is also on the notice boards at all labour offices. The agency advises young people to read it before they apply.

Employers can find the terms and application details for the other programmes at labour offices and in the "Funding announcements by region" section of the Employment Agency's website.
