International recognition for Roza Boyanova in Skopje
Burgas poet Roza Boyanova has been awarded the prestigious international literary prize "Literary Scepter" for 2026. The solemn ceremony took place at the Writers' Association of Macedonia (WAM) during the jubilee 30th edition of the "Feast of the Linden Trees".
"The poetry of Roza Boyanova is authentic, recognizable, deeply intellectual, and saturated with philosophical insight," noted writer Dragana Evtimova.
Details about the award
- Status: The award is granted without an application process, following a vote by the Board of the WAM.
- Distinction: A plaque and a statuette crafted by artist Vlado Veljanovski.
- Poetry collection: A special edition featuring selected poems titled "Asymmetry", translated into three languages.
Along with the Bulgarian poet, Macedonian author Academician Risto Vasilevski also received an award for lifetime achievement. This recognition reinforces Roza Boyanova's authority as one of the most significant contemporary voices in Bulgarian literature.
