Burgas, for the tenth consecutive year, establishes itself as a city open to innovative and environmentally friendly initiatives, demonstrating once again its support for projects enriching the urban environment.

On September 19, 2025, the seaside city once again hosted the global initiative Park(ing) Day, this year under the provocative motto "Park imagination, not cars".

At dawn, two parking spaces on Konstantin Fotinov Street were transformed into a vibrant and creative space. The day began with invigorating morning exercises, creating a dynamic and positive atmosphere. Afterwards, volunteers from Georgia, Turkey, and Bulgaria offered an international breakfast, combining culinary traditions in a shared celebration.

Sunbeams illuminated the lively scene. Smiles and emotions spread among the participants, engaged in games like dominoes, chess, and Twister. Creative impulses filled the air – painting, sculpting, exchanging ideas for the future of Burgas. The event attracted dozens of Burgas residents and guests, creating an unforgettable sense of community and shared creativity, revitalizing the urban space with new energy.

Park(ing) Day is a global movement that takes place annually in hundreds of cities worldwide. The initiative aims to rethink urban spaces, reclaiming them for communication, recreation, and inspiration, encouraging environmental awareness and a change in attitude towards the use of urban areas.

The organizers of the event in Burgas are the Association for Strategic Management "Delphi", the "Astika" Foundation, and volunteers under the "European Solidarity Corps" program, with the support of Burgas Municipality, "Transport" Department, and the "Youth Volunteer Network" Association. Their joint efforts demonstrate the power of partnership and the striving for a better and more vibrant urban space. The initiative, viewed in the context of global environmental challenges, shows the importance of civic engagement in shaping a more sustainable and attractive urban environment.
