With the approach of the 11th edition of the Burgas International Film Fest, the organizers revealed one of the exciting surprises in this year's competition program. The festival will take place from July 20 to 25 at various locations, turning the seaside town into a magnet for filmmakers and lovers of the seventh art.
The winner in the Bulgarian short film selection will receive a special prize – provision of professional equipment for filming. The award is provided by the production house VOESOLI, which is actively developing the modern film industry in our country. The Burgas-based studio offers high-quality equipment, professional services and practical training. In addition, it works to build connections between film circles in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, creating opportunities for international cooperation and exchange of ideas.
VOESOLI has already participated in a number of film projects, including feature films, supports local initiatives and develops its own educational program – Voesoli Film Lab. Behind the studio is director and VFX artist Kiril Todorov, whose films have been awarded at international festivals. After a series of successful short film projects, he is preparing the premiere of his first feature film "EMBUG", which is expected in 2026.
His professional experience in world studios such as DNEG, UPP and Troll VFX, as well as his participation in Hollywood productions such as "Black Adam", "Wonder Woman" and "Terminator: Dark Fate", allows him to combine the creative and technical approach in cinema. Through VOESOLI, Kiril Todorov focuses on supporting the new generation of filmmakers and creating an environment in which ideas are turned into finished films.
The organizers of the festival expressed their joy at the partnership and stressed that they are looking forward to finding out who will win this unique opportunity. Burgas International Film Festival is realized with the partnership of Burgas Municipality. The event supports Burgas' candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2032.
