Burgas confirms its status as a world sports destination
Burgas will host the World Tai Chi Championship, marking the third such competition the city has hosted. The forum is one of only five held in the world so far, according to Stefan Kolev, President of the Bulgarian Wushu Federation.
"Burgas is the only city in Europe, and indeed in the world, that has hosted three world championships," Kolev emphasized during the official press conference.
The city already has a rich history, having hosted the Youth World Championship in 2016 and a Tai Chi competition in 2018. This year, Burgas once again proves its organizational strength.
The scale of the event: Over 40 countries in Burgas
The competition will attract representatives from over 40 countries. In the coming days, the seaside city will be home to competitors, coaches, and officials from different continents, transforming into a true center for Tai Chi.
- Location: "Mladost" Sports Hall
- Dates: From April 25 to 30
- Participants: Athletes on a global scale
- Entry: Free for all visitors
Logistical and tourism challenges
The Deputy Mayor of Burgas, Manol Todorov, emphasized that the preparation is a serious organizational challenge. Since the event takes place during a period with an intensive calendar, precise coordination is required for:
- Hotel accommodations;

- Service to the tourism sector.
Nevertheless, confidence in Burgas as a hospitable city remains unwavering, which guarantees the success of the forum.
