The mortuary at Burgas hospital "UMBAL – Burgas" will get a refrigeration chamber for storing bodies and an electric hoist/trolley, paid for by Burgas municipality. The city council agreed the plan at its meeting on 21 September, the 42nd of its term.
The city will set aside 30,000 euros for the equipment in its 2027 budget. The gear is for the hospital's forensic medicine and deontology department, and the hospital itself will handle the purchase. Councillors told the municipality to start work on funding it.
The motion was signed by councillors Mariela Kirova, Milen Georgiev, Stoyan Grozev, Georgi Kuzmanov, Georgi Manev, Bencho Benchev, Krasimir Batilov and Todor Angelov, from the "CODE – Bulgarian Rise – Citizens of the Municipality" group.
