Six aeromedical missions were carried out last week to provide emergency assistance to patients in critical condition. During the same period, assistance was also provided to a man who suffered an ATV accident in the Osogovo Mountains, in the area above the "Trite Buki" hut.
According to data from the "National 112 System" Directorate under the Ministry of Interior, the total number of regulated calls to the 112 emergency number from 7:00 AM on September 11 to 7:00 AM on September 18 reached 37,516. This represents an 8.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year. For comparison, a total of 42,604 calls were registered during the previous week (September 4–11).
Through international cooperation, 13 cross-border calls requiring police and emergency medical intervention were processed. These cases involved incidents in France, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, and Sweden, and a report was also received regarding a case of domestic violence against a Bulgarian citizen in Belgium.
The distribution of signals by category shows that 13,542 calls were directed to emergency medical centers, while 7,007 signals were sent to municipal response teams. The breakdown of incidents includes:
- 9,993 signals for crimes against persons;
- 982 signals for crimes against property;
- 2,752 fires;
- 2,278 traffic accidents;
- 544 accidents;
- 378 cases of missing or distressed persons;
- 38 signals for reckless driving and racing;
- 17 disasters;
- 14 domestic and industrial incidents;
- 11 signals for illegal migrants and refugees;
- 7 signals related to dangerous substances.
Data on the load of emergency lines is important information about the general safety and emergency medical assistance situation in the country, including the residents of Burgas.
The "National 112 System" Directorate explains that the classification of incidents is based on the information provided by citizens. It is possible for two or more separate calls to be received regarding the same event.
