The Sofia Technology Park has officially launched a large-scale national initiative in the field of artificial intelligence, called BRAIN++. The project, starting on August 1, 2025, is a strategic platform for technological development with the ambition to position Bulgaria as a regional leader in artificial intelligence and robotics.

A key element of the initiative is the "Discoverer" supercomputer, acquired with the support of the European Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU). The machine will provide unprecedented computational capabilities for Bulgarian researchers and technology startups, providing them with modern computational infrastructure.

The INSAIT Institute plays a central role in the project, coordinating access to computational resources and creating a favorable ecosystem for AI technology development. Specific initiatives include organizing hackathons, developing specialized tools for labeling AI solutions, and creating local language models such as BgGPT.

The BRAIN++ platform aims to overcome the existing challenges faced by Bulgarian technology entrepreneurs by providing them with direct access to high-tech research infrastructure. Through targeted efforts, the project seeks to attract young talents, stimulate innovations, and establish our country as a recognizable center for research in the field of artificial intelligence.

The interdisciplinary approach of the initiative brings together academic circles, technology parks, and industrial partners, creating a unique opportunity for large-scale technological developments with potential for international recognition.
