In an express statement to the media, political leader Boyko Borissov definitively described Bulgaria as the most stable and secure state in the European space, while simultaneously launching sharp criticism towards the opposition parties.
Borissov emphasized the consolidated position of the opposition formations - "Continue the Change", "Democratic Bulgaria", "Revival" and "Grandeur", defining them as pro-Russian political structures that categorically oppose the introduction of the euro.
With marked self-confidence, the politician highlighted his personal merits for Bulgaria's European integration, specifically emphasizing the country's inclusion in the European Banking Union, Schengen Area, and Eurozone.
A key moment in his statement was the warning about potential financial risks with a potential caretaker cabinet. According to his calculations, the lack of a regular government could lead to a budget deficit between 4% and 6%, which directly threatens the state's European perspective.
"On January 1st, we can both enter and exit the Eurozone if Europe establishes non-compliance with accession requirements," the GERB leader stated categorically.
In the context of international recognition, Borissov highlighted Bulgaria's achieved high credit ratings and the successful acceptance of the North Macedonia proposal in the European Parliament, which he defined as his personal contribution.
Additional impression was made by the information from the audit commission, which positioned Bulgaria as a benchmark example of recovery, with potential to return 4.5 billion leva.
The politician also emphasized his achievements regarding migration policy, declaring "zero illegal migration" and protection of national interests by preventing risks from the green deal.
In conclusion, Borissov commented on the upcoming legislative changes in budget legislation and the law for euro adoption, recommending the latter be valid until the end of the next calendar year.
The statement reinforced GERB's position as a leading political force with a clear European orientation and national interest.
