The new Director of the NRA: Who is Boris Mihaylov?
At the proposal of the Minister of Finance, the Council of Ministers has officially appointed Boris Mihaylov as Executive Director of the National Revenue Agency (NRA). He takes over the post from Milena Krastanova, who is stepping down from the position at her own request.
This is a return for Mihaylov, who has previously headed the revenue agency during the period of August 2022 – June 2023.
Extensive experience and education
Boris Mihaylov is a proven expert with an extensive background in the fields of finance and law. He holds two master's degrees:
- Economics (UNWE);
- Law.
In addition to his academic education, Mihaylov has completed a specialized management course in the USA, as well as numerous qualifications in the field of privatization funds and stock exchange trading.
Career path
The professional path of the new NRA Director includes various key positions:
- Auditor at the Ministry of Finance;
- Tax inspector and department head in the tax administration;
- Lawyer specializing in tax and criminal law with over 10 years of experience;
- Executive Director of the State Fund "Agriculture" (2021-2022).
Before him, the post was held by Milena Krastanova, and the chronology of the heads of the revenue agency also includes names such as Hristo Markov and Rumen Spetsov.
