Nearly 200 runners from three continents took part in an amateur run on the seaside promenade in Burgas over the weekend. It was the third "MMC-Burgas 3 km Run", the Youth International Centre-Burgas said.
The field included international students. The organisers said their number grows every year.
In the boys' race, Dimitar Stoyanov finished first in 10:48 min. Damyan Georgiev was second in 11:09 min, and Petko Velikov took third in 11:26 min.
In the girls' race, Gaudia Aghanenu won in 14:44 min. Veneta Chavdarova came next with 15:10 min, followed by Darina Trendafilova with 16:23 min.
The run is organised by the Youth International Centre-Burgas and Burgas State University "Prof. Dr Asen Zlatarov". The organisers want to encourage an active lifestyle and bring more young people into sport and exercise.
We wrote about the "MMC-Burgas 3 km Run" at the end of September. The start was set for 10 October at 10:00, with the meeting point at the car park barrier on the road towards Solnitsite. The race is part of the project "Youth of Burgas – the Future Starts Now".
The project receives money from the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the programme for funding youth centres in Bulgaria for 2026–2028.
