Bulgarian tennis player Isabella Shinikova experienced a defeat in the doubles final match at the clay international tournament in Leipzig, Germany. Together with local athlete Lola Giza, the 33-year-old sportswoman failed to overcome the resistance of the Asian pair.
The fourth-seeded So-hyun Park from the Republic of Korea and Peangtarn Plipuech from Thailand imposed a decisive victory with a score of 6:1, 6:4 within exactly one hour of play. The match went through extremely contested moments, with the Bulgarian-German duo managing to maintain an equal game until 3:3 in the second set.
Although Shinikova possesses an impressive statistic of 32 won trophies in doubles tournaments from the International Tennis Federation (ITF), her last triumph dates back to January 2023 in the Tunisian city of Monastir. The loss in Leipzig remains another challenge on the path to new successes.
