The caretaker government approved Bulgaria's accession to an administrative agreement for the management of documents related to the European Union's Secure Connectivity Program. This was announced by the government's information service.
The goal is to build a reliable and secure satellite infrastructure that provides uninterrupted communication services for the government sector, critical infrastructure, citizens, and businesses.
The agreement provides access to a common mechanism for the coordination and management of radio frequency and orbital resources, as well as the opportunity to use capacity for secure satellite connectivity.
By joining, Bulgaria is participating in the efforts of the European Union member states to build a sustainable and independent communication system, which is of key importance for the security of the Union, the press service adds.
