Bulgaria Beat Solomon Islands in FIFA Series: Jakarta Report

The Bulgarian national team defeated the Solomon Islands 2-1 in a friendly match of the FIFA Series tournament in Jakarta. Marin Petkov and Tonislav Yordanov scored the goals for Bulgaria, while Rafael Leai reduced the deficit for the islanders. Aleksandar Dimitrov fielded a youthful squad, and Filip Krastev captained the team.

The Bulgarian national football team defeated the Solomon Islands 2:1 in a friendly match of the FIFA Series tournament in Jakarta. Marin Petkov opened the scoring in the 3rd minute after an assist from Zdravko Dimitrov. Tonislav Yordanov scored a penalty in the 12th minute, following a foul by goalkeeper Philip Mango against Zdravko Dimitrov. Rafael Leai reduced the score for the Solomon Islands in the 27th minute, also from a penalty.

The match offered interesting moments for both teams. Bulgaria organized quick attacks, but the Solomon Islands also created problems for the Bulgarian defense.

Coach Alexander Dimitrov relied on a rejuvenated squad, giving a chance for new players to perform. Filip Krastev led the "lions" with the captain's armband.

Despite the absence of key players, Bulgaria showed confidence and controlled the game. After the match, coach Alexander Dimitrov said that he expects a different style against the Solomon Islands. Player Dimitar Mitov expressed his joy that such a young team is playing for Bulgaria.
