MHP leader Devlet Bahceli has offered condolences to the families and friends of those who died in the Istanbul floods after heavy rain, and to the whole nation, in a written statement. He wished the injured a quick recovery.
This report follows our earlier story on Istanbul's heaviest rainfall in 84 years, which flooded streets and homes and killed people.
"Our state, as in every disaster and emergency, is on the ground today with all its institutions," Bahceli wrote. He said authorities are working with determination to protect people's lives and property, repair the damage and bring life back to normal.
Bahceli wished Istanbul and all its citizens "may it pass". He also wished success to the public servants, rescue teams, medics and security forces working on the ground.
