Drone attacks on merchant ships in the Black Sea are continuing and are now closer to the Bulgarian coast, a few nautical miles outside Bulgaria's territorial waters.

On the show "Two on Two. The Saturday Duel", MPs from the ruling Progressive Bulgaria and the opposition Democratic Bulgaria debate the topic "Drone attacks and the questions facing Bulgaria's security. Who threatens Bulgaria?"

They argue over how the government has acted as the crisis grows, the state of the country's security and who is behind the threat.

Progressive Bulgaria is represented by MPs Yavor Gechev and Zdravko Markov, and Democratic Bulgaria by Bozhidar Bozhanov and Yordan Ivanov.

The talk has three parts: the tension in the Black Sea, the economic cost of the war and the disruption to shipping, and students' questions to the MPs. The full show is in the video.

English has two words where Bulgarian has one, "сигурност". "Safety" means protection from natural disasters, road accidents and technical faults. "Security" means protection from deliberate acts by people with bad intentions, such as theft, vandalism, cyberattacks, terrorism or unauthorised access.

Bulgarian has about 200,000 words, but it uses just one, "сигурност", for both ideas. People have heard it often in recent days because of the attacks.
