Municipal councilor Arch. Petko Gechev will return to the team of Primorsko Municipality as a deputy mayor, after the municipal councilors in Primorsko approved Mayor Ivan Gaykov's proposal to update the structure of the municipal administration.
Architect Gechev is a long-time specialist in the field of design and technical infrastructure. The municipality is entering an intensive period with many projects starting in all settlements. The inclusion of architect Gechev will contribute to more operational and more expert work, the mayor said.
Architect Petko Gechev, who is currently a municipal councilor, said that his decision to accept the offer was not accidental. This is the result of analysis and a conscious desire for what is important - the development of the city and the municipality as a whole, including Kiten and all settlements, he told the councilors.
Arch. Petko Gechev will officially take office next month.
During the session, Mayor Ivan Gaykov also announced that despite delays in infrastructure activities due to prolonged rainfall, the levels of the Yasna Polyana reservoir have reached values they haven't had since 2014, which gives peace of mind on the topic of water supply for the coming years.
The councilors considered a total of nine points. By voting, they approved monthly limits for collecting revenues and for realizing expenses under the budget of Primorsko Municipality for the first quarter of 2026. A report was also adopted to approve a temporary interest-free loan from the municipal budget to finance the payment of compensation upon retirement under the Labor Code and the Collective Labor Agreement of the Rusalka Kindergarten in Primorsko, which is a secondary budget manager.
The Municipal Council also adopted the investments made by "Water Supply and Sewerage" EAD – Burgas in 2025 on the territory of the municipality. With a separate decision, the period and territories in Primorsko Municipality were determined, in which the performance of construction and installation works is prohibited in order to protect the tourist season and ensure peace for residents and guests of the municipality.
The councilors also approved proposals for supporting the raising of newborns.
