In the process of forming the new composition of the Anti-Corruption Commission, four candidates were proposed, with the intrigue intensifying due to the absence of the current interim chairman Anton Slavchev.
Joint nominations from the political formations GERB, ITN, and BSP fell on the current member Stoyan Petkov and lawyer Maria Daskalova. Dragomir Stoynev from the Bulgarian Socialist Party put forward an alternative candidacy against Petar Koev - currently deputy director in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Management.
The "Creative Community" Foundation nominated lawyer Adelina Natanova, connected to the former customs director Petya Bankova. The Foundation was established by Mustafa Emin - a former advisor to the defense minister in the cabinet of Nikolay Denkov and Todor Tagrev.
Before April, Emin was a member of the "Yes, Bulgaria" party but left and became an advisor to the leader of "Vazkhod" Ivelin Mihaylov. This political transition further intensifies the intrigue around the upcoming selection of anti-corruption experts.
