A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition following a road accident near Karnobat, Burgas region. The crash, which occurred on April 12th, involved two cars and left the child in a coma.
The incident took place on the road between Karnobat and Aitos, near the junctions for the villages of Klikach and Chukarka. According to police reports, a 24-year-old driver, driving a car at an inappropriate speed, lost control of the vehicle.
The car went off the road, cut through the roadside guardrail, and returned to the road, where it collided with another car driven by a 27-year-old man. The latter tried to avoid the impact, but failed.
In addition to the 14-year-old boy, three other people were injured: a 35-year-old man, who was released for home treatment, a 33-year-old woman, who refused medical assistance, and the 7-year-old daughter of the 35-year-old man, also released for home treatment.
The crash also caused significant material damage. Nine metal guardrails and eight posts attached to them were affected.
The investigation into the incident continues.
