Iliana Iotova and Kiril Valchev ended their campaigns in Plovdiv. The event was held in the former Regional Assembly of Eastern Rumelia, a building that today keeps the memory of the Unification of 1885.
Iotova says the war in Ukraine is one of the main differences between her and her opponents. She backs peace reached through talks, not by force.
Iotova opposes turning the Black Sea into a closed military zone.
"Do we want the Black Sea to become a closed military zone? We will firmly refuse to accept such a decision. I will not accept this love of war," she said.
On 14 October in Burgas, before a full hall at the State Opera, Iotova called on the six countries around the Black Sea to agree a moratorium on fighting at sea. She said Bulgaria and Romania would ask for the issue to be added as an extra item at the EU summit.
Valchev focused on Bulgaria's 14 centuries in Europe and on unity. He said that over those centuries the country learned it is strong when it is united. He cited words of Iotova.
