Following the final containment of the fire, officials from the Burgas eco-inspection agency are set to conduct a thorough inspection of the nature reserve. They must determine whether any rare animal or plant species were harmed as the blaze reached the boundaries of the protected zone, having spread across several different fronts.

The incident left behind destroyed beehives and a caravan located in the area near the Burgas neighborhoods of "Rudnik" and "Cherno More." The fire broke out shortly after 1:00 PM, initially consuming dry grass and shrubs. Subsequently, the flames grew rapidly, engulfing the reeds near two bodies of water located around the Burgas salt pans and Lake Atanasovsko.

As it developed, the fire front posed a serious threat to nearby businesses. However, fire crews managed to respond in time and halt the spread of the flames, preventing them from reaching the production facilities that had been at immediate risk.
