Police detained two men with criminal records over drugs in Nesebar and Sredets on 21 October, Burgas regional police (ODMVR) said. In a separate special operation in Pomorie municipality, officers detained a 24-year-old man from Burgas, who also has a criminal record.
At about 2.40pm, officers from Nesebar police stopped a 46-year-old man from Chirpan for a check outside the Central Plaza complex. The operation covered Sunny Beach and Nesebar. The man had 3 grams of a white crystal-like substance, which police say is methamphetamine.
Officers then searched his home in the Chayka district of Nesebar. They found another 5 grams of methamphetamine and 8 grams of cocaine, so the total seized from the Chirpan man was 16 grams of cocaine and methamphetamine. He is being held for up to 24 hours, and a pre-trial investigation has started.
A few hours earlier the same day, officers from Sredets police searched a home on Hadzhi Dimitar Street. It is the home of a 34-year-old local man, who has a criminal record and a previous conviction.
They found a 1.5-litre plastic bottle holding a cloudy white liquid with a sharp smell. Police say it is methamphetamine, but they have not given the amount or the exact make-up, which a laboratory will establish. Officers also seized other items used for taking drugs.
The man from Sredets is being held for up to 24 hours, and fast-track proceedings have been opened against him. The two cases from 21 October are being handled separately.
