The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a red alert for significant rainfall in Silistra, Razgrad, and other regions on October 8th, warning of heavy rain. Orange and yellow alerts are also in effect, with increased caution advised.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has raised the degree of danger for today, October 8th, announcing a red code for significant rainfall in several regions. These regions include Silistra, Razgrad, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech, and Gabrovo.

The decision to declare a red code was made due to the continuing significant rainfall, with the amounts expected to exceed 65 millimeters. This is stated in the map with warning codes for dangerous meteorological phenomena, published on the NIMH website. The atmosphere is charged with tension, as residents of the affected areas are preparing for the possible consequences of heavy rain.

At the same time, an orange code for significant rainfall is in effect for today in the Vratsa, Targovishte, and Dobrich regions. A lower degree of danger is predicted, but increased attention and caution are still recommended by local residents.

A yellow warning code, indicating significant rainfall, has been announced for the Montana, Varna, and Shumen regions. This signals potential meteorological complications that require readiness and attention.

Today is expected to remain cloudy with rain. In Northern Bulgaria, the rain is expected to be more prolonged and significant in quantity. The wind will be moderate, blowing from the west-northwest, and in the northeast regions - from the north-northeast. It feels cold, and the maximum temperatures are expected to range between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. For Sofia, around 10 degrees Celsius is predicted.

In Sofia, the sun rose this morning at 7:32 AM, and sunset is expected at 6:56 PM. The length of the day is 11 hours and 24 minutes. The sky above the capital, however, remains gloomy and rainy. The moon is in the phase one day after the full moon, which is unlikely to be noticed in this gloomy atmosphere.
