On June 5, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolai Pavlov received the copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Bulgaria (headquartered in Athens) Arturo Arsinaga. During the meeting, the two parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of the traditionally friendly Bulgarian-Peruvian relations. The possibilities for activating the bilateral political dialogue, including through the mechanism of bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, were discussed. Mutual interest was expressed in strengthening cooperation in various areas such as tourism, investment, culture and education. Positive expectations were expressed for the results of the upcoming Summit between the European Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States at the end of 2025.
