Critical fire threatens an electrical substation in Shumen

The spokesperson for the Regional Police Directorate in Shumen, Asya Yordanova, reported a critical fire on the city's outskirts. The fire incident was localized behind the Professional High School of Agriculture and Food Technologies, in the immediate vicinity of the former industrial complex ZIENO.

The extremely risky situation is developing in a high-risk area, as the flames threaten a neighboring electrical substation. Due to the potential threat, local authorities took immediate measures and suspended power supply in the affected area.

The statistics from regional fire services reveal the scale of the challenge: in the last 72 hours alone, 23 incident reports were registered. From the beginning of the year until August 7, employees have extinguished a total of 325 field and forest fires, with the number reaching 115 in July alone.
