Bulgaria's Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation said on Facebook that the draft budget includes €49m for an artificial intelligence factory.

The factory will continue the European project BRAIN++/Discoverer++. Companies, scientists and public bodies that build and use AI technology will get computing power, expert help and training from it.

Science and applied research will get an extra €62.1m. Funding for secondary vocational and technical education will rise by €10m.

Bulgaria plans to take part in more international science and technology initiatives, including the European Space Agency and NATO-DIANA.

Money is also set aside to launch the European digital identity wallet and to develop it further. With it, people will be able to prove who they are from their phones, show electronic certificates and sign documents.
