Heavy traffic at Kalotina and Kapitan Andreevo border crossings: Current situation

Intense traffic at main border crossings

As of 6:00 a.m. this morning, the General Directorate of Border Police reports increased traffic at the following Border Checkpoints (BCP):

• Kalotina BCP (border with Serbia): intense traffic for incoming light vehicles.
• Kapitan Andreevo BCP (border with Turkey): increased traffic for both incoming and outgoing light and heavy vehicles.

Important: Travelers heading to these destinations should allow extra time for crossing due to the heavy traffic.

Condition of borders with Romania and neighboring countries

Traffic at the border with Romania is normal. The Border Police remind that traffic at the Danube Bridge is fully restored and is operating in both lanes.

However, there are serious restrictions on the Danube River:

• Oryahovo – Bechet BCP: The ferry connection is temporarily suspended due to critically low river levels.
• Svishtov – Zimnicea BCP: Operations are halted for the same reason, with the platform currently located on Bulgarian territory.

Traffic at the borders with Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia is proceeding normally at all border checkpoints.
