Tragedy near Dupnitsa

A serious accident at the exit of Dupnitsa claimed the lives of two people, and three were injured. The report was received shortly after 7:00 PM, after a passenger car crashed into a trailer parked off the road. The driver and his passenger in the front seat died on the spot. An injured girl was transported by medical helicopter to the "St. Anna" hospital in Sofia.

Series of incidents in the country

The increasing number of road accidents has necessitated urgent measures by the Ministry of Interior.
  • Botevgrad – Trudovets: Collision between two passenger cars, one injured.
  • Orlintsi Village: A 1.5-year-old child is in critical condition after being pinned by a car that started moving without a driver.
  • Karnobat: 72-hour detention for the truck driver who caused an accident on the Trakia motorway, in which one person died and two were injured.

Increased control over heavy goods traffic

By order of the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Lyubomir Nikolov, increased inspections of trucks over 3.5 tons are beginning. Special attention will be paid to vehicles over 12 tons. The operation will be carried out jointly with the Executive Agency "Automobile Administration".
