Verdi's opera "Aida" unfolds an epic world in the ancient sanctuary of Begliktash

The Thracian sanctuary of Begliktash will host the exceptional musical event "Aida" by Giuseppe Verdi on August 16, Saturday, at 8:30 PM. The production is part of the sixth edition of the "Opera of the Sanctuary" festival, jointly organized by the State Opera - Burgas and the Primorsko Municipality.

Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Grigor Palikarov, the opera performers will recreate the emotional story of the Ethiopian princess Aida, the Pharaoh's daughter Amneris, and the Egyptian military commander Radames. The direction is entrusted to Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev, who adapts the classical work for the open stage.

The leading roles will be performed by exceptional Bulgarian opera talents. Yoana Zhelezcheva will present the main heroine Aida with her remarkable lyric-dramatic soprano. Daniela Dyakova will enter the role of Amneris with her impressive mezzo-soprano. Valery Georgiev will perform the role of Radames - an Egyptian nobleman whose fate is intertwined with the dramatic relationships between the two women.

Among the other distinguished performers are Maryan Yovanoski as the Ethiopian king Amonasro, Delyan Slavov in the role of the High Priest Ramfis, and Kostadin Mechkov as the Pharaoh. The choir under the leadership of Alexander Chepanov will complement the grand musical picture.

Special attention is paid to the visual design. The sets, created by artist Chavdar Chomakov, will harmoniously blend into the natural landscape of the sanctuary, recreating the authentic atmosphere of Ancient Egypt. The choreography by Prof. Hikmet Mehmedov completes the overall artistic impression.

The event promises to be a true mystery among the megalithic stones of the "Bulgarian Stonehenge". The multimedia environment will transport the audience directly to the era of the Pharaohs, creating an unforgettable experience.

Tickets for the performance are almost sold out, which underscores the exceptional interest in the event. For the convenience of viewers, the Primorsko Municipality is organizing transportation to Begliktash, departing at 7:30 PM from the parking lot of the Historical Museum. The price for a round-trip transfer is 8 leva.

The last event of the "Opera of the Sanctuary" festival will be the opera "Nabucco" by Giuseppe Verdi on August 23 at 8:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased from the Opera box office, the "Clock" box office, the Tourist Information Center in Primorsko, as well as online through the Grabo.bg and Eventim.BG platforms.
