Dear compatriots from the Catholic and Armenian communities, Christ is Risen, wrote the caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov on his official Facebook page. Happy Palm Sunday to all Orthodox Christians, he added.

Today, when the bells of the Catholic Church and the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church in Bulgaria announce the Holy Resurrection of Christ, I send a heartfelt greeting to all Christians from the two traditional religions for our Homeland, Gyurov pointed out.

According to him, the Resurrection of Christ is a feast of life that has conquered death, and of hope that has overcome suffering. This is also its timeless message to every person, that light is stronger than darkness and that there is something eternal that survives all suffering, the Prime Minister states.

He also writes that the Catholic community is the bearer of a tradition that has formed the spiritual and cultural appearance of Western civilization for two millennia, and the Armenian people are among the first in the world to accept the Christian faith - a tradition with a depth measured not in decades, but in millennia. Different in history and fate, the two communities stand today before the one and the same mystery of the Resurrection and in it they find their common language, adds Andrey Gyurov.

President Iliana Iotova also sent a holiday greeting.
